Peter Ogston illegally let a flat to my boyfriend and I.
We found the advertisement for the flat registered on Gumtree.com for the 1 bedroom flat in Twickenham and he told us he let flats for a living and that his name was Peter King.
After moving in we received mail from a local housing trust and became suspicious and rang the trust. Peter Ogston should have been living in the flat himself but was illegally sub-letting it to us for 700 a month - much more I suspect than he would have been renting the flat for from the trust. The trust informed us to get out as we would have been evicted had we stayed there any longer.
It wasn't till our rent was due that Ogston contacted us to ask why the money had not gone into his account. We told him that we knew what had happened and that we no longer lived in the flat. To this he hung up the phone. We got a text to say that we would get our deposit back shortly. A month has passed now and we are still waiting for that money.
Two weeks ago we found he had posted a new ad on Gumtree.com for the same flat. Although we cannot prove anything else - I have found a few things on the internet that points towards possible other scams by him and Gemma Ogston.
They need to be stopped.
