July 2016 I signed-up to a two year contract with Three's (Hutchison 3G UK Ltd...) online broadband service - I opted for their maximum bandwidth plan of 20GB a month for £13. Admittedly - and I raised this doubt just before signing-up, I was sceptical as to how long 20GB would last, but the rep assured me that this would be more than sufficient for normal usage. Well, in my experience, it is not. Any site that involves watching video clips; so news sites, tube sites, etc, really eats into this bandwidth very fast, so lately, I've resorted to just reading the text. Now, I would gladly pay £26 a month for 40GB coverage, but I can't as 20GB is the max' they do.
They do offer a top-up service or option, in that you can buy additional bandwidth at 1GB increments, but - and this really gets me, at an additional cost of £5 per gigabyte. So, an additional 3GB would cost £15, plus the nominal monthly charge of £13 - that's £28 a month! Of course I will not do this, do they think I'm a mug?
Anyway, I've submitted numerous complaints outlining the same reservations via their online contact form, but had no response at all, so I then even sent a formal letter to their head office, but again no response. Because of this terrible customer service, I will go elsewhere when my contract expires. For certain!
