Geneaogy record service fraudulently billed me for service that I expressly canceled. England

Origins.net, Originsnetwork.com, and OMS Services, Ltd, [often just called "Origins"] is a genealogical service providing access to English historical records. The service supposedly can be canceled at anytime, according to their contract.

I signed up for one month of service in May, knowing that I had to cancel the subscription before the next billing period. I canceled, but was billed in June anyway. I didn't notice the charge. I was billed again in July, noticed the charge, and requeated a refund. Without sending a word to me, the July charge was reversed. [but not June's]

In August, I was billed $19.82 again. I noticed that each month, the bank was charging me .79 cents for an International Transaction, in addition to the Monthly Service Fee. I emailed the company, requesting a refund for August, June, and the .79 fee for each month.

I received an email from Worldpay.com stating that I, "will not be billed anymore". Nothing was stated about refunding money they fraudulently billed me. They also stated that they were in no way responsible for Origins billing, and any despute has to be resolved with them.

Origins, of course, has not returned my emails, but forwards them to Worldpay. Meanwhile, interest acrues on my account, for charges I didn't authorize. Not only have I not authorized the charges, but I've specically requested a cancelation, as of June. Not only did I request cancelation, but they actually refunded July's payment, before billing me again in August, proving they know I requested cancelation.

I strongly recommend that no one fall for the monthly subscription frauds that some genealogical companies perpetuate on unsuspecting customers. Particularly avoid Originsnet, Originsnetwork, and all branches of the same. [at this point, I'm not too sure about Worldpay either. After receiving my email, I think a legitimate company should have voluntarily verified any charge they were placing on a complaining customer's account]
