Contract cancellation problems!

I am currently using two contracts from the same company and the service and products provided to were fine so i decided to purchase another contract. This company would normally give you the best deals than other retailers.

This time i was offered a deal after cashback GBP 9.99/month with motorolla V3X.for 400 voice min, 250 texts, 5 pounds download multimedia messeges.

I received my phone in a simple white box and not motorolla box, without memory card, wired headphones and user manual and drivers cd. I phoned them up to complaint and then i was sent a user`s guide and cd bt no headphones and memory card.

Being agitated i phoned them back to find out whats happening. Then i was told that its a clearance handset and wouldn't come with headphones and memory card. So i said i wasn't made aware of this and i do not want clearance handset.

I phoned 3g network to cancel my contract on 10th day of purchase and i was told that all they can do is cancel the direct debit and not the contract and i would have to go to dealer to do so. I phoned this company called Microline back to cancel the contract and i was told that 3g has changed the laws n policies that if you purchase a contract once it cannot be cancelled. I replied back saying its still within 14 days period. I was told that once you buy a contract we do not cancel it and if you do not pay for it, it would damage your credit score.

So plz do not buy 3g phone contract and get trapped like this.
