Re: reimbursement of 3 ticket fares for flight EY231

After taking legal advice we decided to write to you because had to pay 1, 070 for 3 new tickets to return back to England. We had purchased 3 tickets from Bhatti Travel they cost £480 each, in Oldham to 227 Waterloo Street, Oldham, OL41ES. We got to Pakistan without any problems however on our return we encountered various problems.

On our return we arrived at Islamabad at 12.30am Islamabad airport. Our flight was to leave at 4.00am, there was a massive queue there. At the arrival point we queued up initially at the arrival, there was a search to do with class A drugs, we queued up for 2.30 minutes, and they were taking 20 minutes with each person. Once we passed this point we paid 2500 rupees the reason why we were held up, because they wanted more money. We complained that we had a short while left and they told us that this was procedure. We went through the body search and the baggage’s went through the scanners, we arrived at checking at 3.30 am, we were informed that we had missed our flight. We also encountered other individuals, who informed us the same.

We tried to reason with the people at the checking desk that we had 30 minutes to go, they told us that the flight was overbooked, than they stated to us that they could arrange another flight for us the day after, and leave to the air lines. They asked us to leave, we left, we had to phone our family to pick us up and this had cost us additional money. The reason why we couldn’t get through because they wanted more money and through no fault of our own, we were there on time. The next day we went to travel agents in Mirpur who informed us about 55 people returned from this flights all saying the same story, but also we were informed by this agent, that the reason why we were held up was because we weren’t paying enough money.

All the years that we have travelled to Pakistan we have never encountered such problems. My mother is a diabetic and 85 year old woman, and I was travelling with a 20 year old young lad as well. I suffered a lot of stress and inconvenience. We feel that we have incurred unnecessary costs and we want our money returned for the amount we paid to return safely home which was 1, 070. Also, additional costs for transport and the inconvenience that you have caused us. The reason why we initially went on this airline was because we heard that it was a good airline. I am dissatisfied with the whole catalogue of events and it has really put us of from using your AIRLINES in the future.
