I had my gearbox tested at a local auto gearbox specialest, they told me that the gear box was no good. with a qote of over £1500 i decided to look around, nearly two weeks of looking around i found autofix. i told them what i needed, gave them my car reg number, they said they would ring me back, they did and said that they had a gear box and could pick my car up and fit a recondisioned gearbox for £925. i agreed with this. they picked my car up on 19/10/09 and said it would take about three days.i got a phone call on 22/10/09 to say i could come and get my car. i didnt get the call untill about 3.00pm so i told them that i wouldnt get there untill about 6.00pm. they said there would be someone there and i had to go to parts plaza to pick it up.i got there payed them £925 got in my car and went off. i got 2/3 miles up the road and my gearbox started to play up again as it did before. i couldnt get hold of anyone at autofix/parts plaza. i managed to get home 60 miles away. i couldnt belive i had just give them £925 and nothing had been done. i phoned them first thing the next morning. they apolagised and said they would pick my car up and sort it out, i asked them if they had even changed the gearbox, they said yes. i went out to have a look, they had not changed it so i phoned them back, then they said they had changed all the parts inside but kepted the caseing. i asked them how they done this as the oil coming out of the leaek it had was dirty when it should of been red, they didnt know. anyway they collected my car after about a week after promising to collect it every day and coming out with excuses like, the recovery truck got vandlised over the weekend, the driver worked late the night before so couldnt get to us, the driver pulled the ligements in hes knee so had to go to hospitol and have a few days off. after keep phoning them to finde outwhere my car was they phoned me to say i could pick it up on 9/11/09. i went by train again, they kept me waiting 2 hours then told me that it broke down on the way to me (from autofix to parts plaza) but gave me a car to get home in with no petrol in it, full of rubbish. i even hade to take a child seat out of it as after them trying for 20 mins they couldnt do it. its now 10/12/09 and i still havent got my car back. iv had so maney excuses there to maney to list, there just so full of lies and bullshit its unbeliveable.they say they have put 3 gearboxes on it, changed the ecu, cant finde my ecu to put back on changed the speed sensor. it seams they are useing my car for parts. what else have they taken off or changed. tradeing standards are not helping. what do i do. all i want is my car back fixed. hopefuly before 2010
