Envy Models
Scam

*complete scam*

i just wanted to take the time to make people aware of this mess this company will get u into, both financially and emotionally. I was approached by envy models to go and have a photo shoot, they informed me i had to take 2 changes of clothing to go for a test shoot they had arranged for me, not at any point did they say they required any money from me up front. On the day both me and my mum attended the shoot where i was met by a lady called lucy, she talked me through the company and told me i would need to go upstairs to have a few test shoots done. Once id had the test shoots done (had 5 pictures taken) i was lead back down stairs to await a talk with lucy, eventually both myself and my mother were call through, there lucy showed us the pictures taken and informed me that from my pictures i would get plenty of work. She then went on to say that in order to complete my shoot it would cost me £499.00, i explained i didnt have this kind of money and she then began pressurising both me and my mum. Then lucy informed me that she could take the money in 3 payments, my mum asked if we could go away and think about it but she replied NO, she then offered to do it weekly for 11 weeks but wanted a down payment that day, my mum paid this on her card. I asked if i could pay by direct debit but she said no, she needed my card details to put it through as a card payment every week, feeling very uneasy i gave her my card details. I went on to have about 20 photos taken (which i didnt get to see) but they told me they had taken 67. Later on that day i had a look on the internet still feeling uneasy about the days events where i came across these complaints, i rang the bank straight away and cancelled the card, then rang envy to let them know i would not be going through with the photos. It took me 3 days to get through when they eventually returned my call, i informed them i would not be requiring the photos as i simply couldnt afford them, to which they said they had just had 3 days off and thats why they hadnt answered the phone. Once i explained my situation lucy became very angry and agressive shouting at me on the phone, she told me she would not cancel the photos and yes i would pay for them, i politely explained i could not afford to do this and she said she would be taking the money off of my card. she also claimed i had signed a contract, (not at any point were either me or my mother made aware of a contract) i told her the only thing we singed was a receipt and she said yes that was the contract and she did not have to explain the terms and conditions to us. so i pointed out that my mum had signed the (receipt) and she was not liable to which lucy informed me yes she was. After shouting at me again she eventually hung up on me. Later on that dayi recieved an email telling me i had broken the terms and conditions and she would be taking the money off the cards. i then contacted consumer direct who are contacting trading standards regarding my complaint. up to now ive not heard anything from envy and i do hope it stays that way, its been a very scary experience from a company that are out to take up money and do nothing for u. i hope that no one else goes through what ive been through.
