On Monday 31st May I was at the Red Lion in Rothwell. The pub was extremely busy so I was waiting at the bar to order my drink for some time. A girl next to me noticed that the barman was rinsing out used glasses under the bar. She asked him if he was actually washing them because it looked as though he was just rinsing them and then the bar staff were using them again. The barman said that he was not washing them only rinsing with water and that it was either that or have no glasses.
I was shocked at this response as I thought that it was the pubs responsibility to provide clean drinking glasses whether they are busy or not. This makes me wonder what other corners they cut when they simply do not have the time to do things properly.
Needless to say I ordered a bottled drink.
