Top-Star Mailshare
I.Shevket As Its Proprietor IS Trading Am I being ripped off??? work at home ripoff England

I have recently seen an advertisement (I can't remember where) regarding jobs of mailing and/or typing envelopes (working from home) and promising to pay 1.10 for each envelope and 6.00-8.00 for typing. I have responded to the advertisement by calling in as requested.

Upon placing my call, I notice that I was diverted to a voice machine which has a pre-recorded message, instructing callers to leave name and address and the company will be in contact with the caller shortly. I did exactly that, and so did my roomate as we are really keen in looking for a part-time job (we are international students).

About 3 days later, we received a letter from Top-Star Mailshare, signed by the Proprietor I.Shevket which mainly focused on its offer to receive more homeworkers to mail envelopes and type letters/transcripts etc on behalf of thousands of companies throughout the UK. My friend and I jumped for joy because we somehow fell for the contents of the letter.

The letter specifically requested a 30 refundable membership fee for life and we had just sent it in last week. Today, we received our membership cards (flimsy, thin manila cards with our handwritten details on them) and a letter saying that they will be in contact with us as soon as work is made available in our area.

I have never ran any searches on the internet because I genuinely believed that the offer was true. Somehow, my conscience led me to run a search on the Net today and here it is, a whole list of complaints against Top-Star Mailshare and IS Trading or whatever name they are trading under. I have read all the comments by other people who have allegedly fell for this particular scam on the Net regarding their scam (promising to contact a member 3 days before delivering work, but somehow it never happens even after a period of 4 months!)and I am very sure that the same thing will happen to us in the event the company is really ripping consumers off.

Today is the first day of us receiving our membership cards. I really wonder if there will ever be any jobs delivered to us as promised or will our 30 membership fee will be refunded if we decide to cancel our membership. I need advise as to how to get back our 30 each from the company (we mailed postal orders) if all this turns out to be a big, dirty scam. And I also wonder, why is it that complaints and comments have been placed on the Net against Top-Star Mailshare, but not a single legal action has been taken against this company if they are indeed using the entity of a company to carry on fraudulent business?

I need to know quick and fast because eventhough 30 is a small amount of money, I wish to get it back if all this proves to be nothing but a major scam. And if there are any lawyers reading this, I need answers as to how to go about oing that in the UK because I simply do not wish to set foot in a foreign country, only to be ripped-off by some company which seemed to have been around for sometime and authorities are aware of its trade and business nature, but nothing is being done.
