Estbookings.com - Smart website, seemed genuine, so we booked a hotel through them. A couple of days before arrival, we receive an email to the effect that we had cancelled the booking.
Oh, no we hadn't. We emailed back asking then to explain and received an email back saying that we had requested a cancellation. We emailed back again and received exactly the same email back - a standard reply. We went to Moss travel - the parent company? and emailed them. Same reply - but there was a 24 hr helpline! Ring the number - 'please leave a message' in one voice, followed by ' we cannot take any more messages' in another, and then they hang up.
So we contacted the hotel directly - no booking had been made in the first place.by this time I was not surprised. What amazes me is that they had produced a nice looking website which must have taken time and money, so they could not just have scammed me for a couple of hundred pounds - so why are they still there?
