Shocking bad service. Do not trust or use Chess Telecom. About two years ago, I had a call from Select calls which Chess later took over. I signed up for a year (or so I thought...) After receiving bills from Select/Chess that were nearly double the amount of my previous service provider, BT, I decided to switch back to them after my year was up. Chess said I couldn't as I had 'signed' up for FIVE years!! I explained I did nothing of the sort, I am professional businessman and would never commit my company to a telephony contract for 5 years. They said they had an original copy of my conversation with the salesperson that confirmed this and no I couldn't listen to it. And, they said if you don't pay almost FOUR THOUSAND pounds we will take you to court. I said go on then. They did. I lost on a paperwork technicality and now owe them this money.
Look into your telephony contracts, what did you agree with them? They have/had a system of a 'confirmation call' which they record. The girl speaks very fast and in a monotone voice confirming various personal details. She says about half way through the conversation '60 months'. They have caught many like this. BEWARE!!!
