24 Hour delivery becoming 48 Hours

I had a package sent via the 24 hour delivery service with parcel force, To be told it will be delivered on Thursday and I sat in all day until 9.30pm and waited. I called parcel force and I asked what was going on, to be told that they will message the driver and someone will get back in contact with me, they said they deliver until late and I should sit in and wait.

There was no telephone call, no package delivered and when I checked my tracking number it had been taken back to the depot on Thursday night and reloaded to the van on Friday morning.

I have been continually calling and told the same thing today. When I have looked on their terms and conditions, if the parcel is delivered 24 hours later than the expected time, there will be NO REFUND! So why do they call it 24 hour delivery? It should be called 48 hour delivery and the ridiculous premium should not be charged. I am self employed and I had shifted my appointments to the evening, yet I had to miss an appointment that night and made a loss as I could not go to the appointment due to parcel forces slack, insolent service!

Warning, do not use this company as they do not fulfil their role!!!
