Letter received from Horizon Investment & Trust Inc. claiming to be notice of partial winnings in UK International Sweepstakes Ltd. They Included a check for $3, 300.00 to cover the UK Taxes.
When company was called, we were told to deposit the check and call them back for instruction how to send the cash by Western Union to the UK. After deposited, was advised it had to be sent directly from us. The check was enough to cover the amount to send two different individuals in the UK and Western Union's Charge for each.
Was told to fax to Horizon IT copies of the Western Union receipts showing the money had been sent.
4 days later, the check they had sent to cover the $3, 300.00 was returned to the bank as stop pay and bank took the amount out of my account in the amount of $3, 300.00.
I am out $3, 300.00.
