I received an e-mail alert via my BlackBerry today regarding a charge of $39.95 being deducted from our account. This purchase was supposedly for an adult website. I asked them to take the charge off of our account & they at first refused. They repeatedly asked for my/our credit card number, which I refused to give, as I would NEVER give that out over the phone. After I made them look up the charge using our name, they were "miraculously" able to pull up the information without a credit card number. They agreed to reverse the charge & credit our account.
I had already notified our bank of the false/scam charge deducted to our account. They did say that if it does post to our account, they can put in a claim & put the money back into our account.
I am happy with the results, but I am NOT HAPPY that I had to waste time to do this. We ended up cancelling both of our credit cards & ordered new ones from the bank to hopefully avoid this happening AGAIN in the future.
