Herbalife
Ripoff

How Herbalife brought me to the brink of bankruptcy and stole my dreams.

Hello everyone

My name is Yvonne. I have been a Herbalife distributor for 2 years. I started this business after having fantastic weight loss results. I believed in the products and believed the marketing plan.

I am now writing a book that will expose all the dirty tricks that is used by these con artists to deceive innocent people. I am looking for others with similar experiences. I am willing to share my royalties with you.

My story:

I was pushed into buying my way up the marketing plan, days after joining the business. I bought my way to being a supervisor, believing that all the marketing plan will work. I did everything that I was told to do. Despite my best efforts, I simply could not get any customers.

When I questioned my upline, I was told that I was not doing enough! 2000 -3000 leaflets a day was not enough! Even so, I continued with the so called 90 day plan. I attended the STS's - as those who are successful do so.

All the STS's, are only geared towards one thing. Misrepresentation of facts. Geared towards every distributor maintaining their 2500 volume points per month - at what cost, and of course qualifying for every event! I learnt that 95% of distributors who claimed that they were maintaining a minimum of 2500 volume points a month were buying the volume points! Not by having customers or a retail business.

It did not help that the warehouse staff let slip that there was a change in their policy. Any orders made, now require a delivery address, so that if a distributor did not pick up his/her order, it would be shipped to them after 14 days. I was informed, by the warehouse staff, that distributors buy the products for the volume points but do not collect the products!

All the STS's encourage non supervisors to become supervisors by any means - get a loan, put it on your credit card, remortgage your homes, etc. I found this both shocking and disturbing. Needless to say, I stopped attending them.

So I continued with my efforts with all the supposedly marketing tools that basically does not work. You name it, I have done it. Not to mention that Herbalife Corporate has so much red tape, that it not only ties the hands of the distributor but boggles the mind. The marketing strategies (if you can call it that), which are permitted are the very ones that do not work!

I joined a Business Center organised by the so called top guns within the business. It was presented as a tool to help distributors improve their business. It was presented that at USD200 per cycle which only lasts for 2 weeks, we would get distributors allocated to our downlines. However the truth was that we only got leads. Eventually, I suspect that the business center started distributing names out of a mailing list. I suspect this as another distributor contacted me to discuss the business! Also every call, I made to a lead was clueless about the business opportunity. It defies the promise that these leads actually requested a biz opp information.

I was always pushed into having to recruit others - my upline admitted to me finally that it is the only way to build the business. Retail is impossible. I was also pushed into getting my downlines to buy their way into supervisors. I have never done that. I would like to sleep at nights.

This is how the business works in the UK. You are recruited, pushed into an STS, brainwashed into going supervisor or World Team - without a retail base. Then pushed to maintaining 2500 vps by whatever means and at any cost.

Eventually I lost around 10000 and am in debt. Herbalife is no longer a business that I would advise my enemies to touch with a barge pole. It has stolen my dreams of owning a decent and stable business. Of having a better quality of life for myself. Now I have to start all over to recoup my losses.
