RipFactory Ltd
Ripoff non-delivery unresponsive lying dishonest, Northern Ireland

I paid US $5, 750 to this company on November 2 to purchase an automated CD ripper. It is now Jan 24 and I have not received my goods, nor have I received any indication as to when it will be delivered.

In late October I inquired about their product. Patrick McGrath, the slippery little company directory, emailed me and rang me to tell me about his product. I researched it online and it seemed to be the best one out there, so I ordered one.

Before I paid them, Patrick was quite communicative. Once payment had been received, I've had to initiate every contact. After some prodding, Patrick indicated that it would be 3 weeks until the unit was delivered. Then he changed it to 8 weeks.

He finally agreed to call me when I threatened legal action. I've had many emails saying he was going to call, or that he tried to call but somehow the link between Ireland and New Zealand was down (funny... when he was making his sales calls, that phone link worked just fine).

His latest lying excuse is that the machine has been waiting in customs with UPS since before Christmas. Of course UPS knows nothing about this, and can't confirm anything for me without a tracking code.

The only time I got anywhere was when I demanded a refund since he obviously is not going to honor the transaction. Then Patrick McGrath sent me a long email explaining they do not give refunds, and that my machine is "on its way", and that I signed a "bespoke" agreement and therefore am not covered under the Consumer Guarantees Act -- more bullshit.

I have been asking for a delivery date and/or a tracking code since mid November. They have not provided me with a tracking code. They have not provided a delivery date. Every so often when I kick up a new fuss, Patrick McGrath will send an email to say he will call, then he never does.

So now I'm out of pocket nearly $6000, plus all the business we've lost over Christmas period, and I am going to have to hire a lawyer to sue him to recover my money and for damages.

Beware this company. The director Patrick McGrath is a compulsive liar and a fraud. He swans around to all these conferences on digital music, and claims to have all sorts of partnerships with Apple/iTunes and various other digital music providers -- if this is true (and that's a big IF), obviously these are the only customers he cares about.

If you are a smaller company or customer, he will just lead you on until he gets your money. Then he will stall, delay, lie, anything to keep from delivering the goods.
