This model apparently has a common fault of motherboard failier and there has been, so I understand as many as 2000 owners with the same complaint. This problem is too expensive to repair so all we are left with is £500 worth of useless crap that we can't even liven up to get any disc out of the hard drive that might still be in it. Hewlett-Packard must be aware of this common fault but to date I have not learned of anyone being compensated or even of any recall regarding this model. Mine is about 3 years old and had to be repaired TWICE even during the warranty. I think that as HP has such a wide range of products and therefore millions of customers, they could at least give owners a FREE laptop replacement (not a 6000 thank you very much) as a good will gesture to show their care of customers with such a common product fault as this.
