Direct Line Car Insurance
Insurance con and NCD problems

Hello There,

I have a complain against Direct Line Motor Insurance, I have been with them for 2 years and had no major problems but last year in November I bought a second car for my wife and I've insured it with them, it was al great until we got to NCD processing, I've sent the proof twice and I was still getting monthly bills of close to 300 pounds because they haven't processed that NCD, I've decided to cancel the direct debit in April after paying 250 a month twice for a 900 pound a year policy.

I've called several times, spoke to their managers but they wanted to pay 969 pounds for the rest of year or they would cancel it.

On the last day that the insurance would be valid according to them I've called their NCD line and spoke to one of their managers who was very Friendly his name was Callum and he offered me a deal in that I would transfer my NCD from my other policy, in my name onto the policy and they would give me free insurance for the rest of year (remainder of the policy) get 150 pounds back from them, that sounded great so I did as my wife's NCD proof wasn't processed for 3 months and the other Policy I just cancelled, after 2 months I've started receiving letters that I have to pay 900 pounds and so forth from Direct Line, When I called them they said that the offer that manager made wasn't valid and that they've cancelled that deal and I have to pay 900 pounds, I've had them listen to recordings and so forth, after 2 weeks I've sold that car as I didn't need it any more but the bill now is for 600 pounds for the months that I haven't paid and admin fees, they have actually refunded me 150 pounds but then tried to take 900 pounds from my account (a very dodgy deal). One of the responses I got is that I cancelled the direct debit and because of that I have to pay more, a joke of customer service.

My biggest problem is that my NCD bonus of 6 years is with them and they will not release it until I pay this sum.

They aren't the company they seem to be, they are scammers and you should avoid them at all costs, I have no proof but a recording on their system that I will never get.
