So ive always been a faithful dominos customer. Theyve never been late and never got my order wrong, so, wanting some ice cream, me and my brother ordered a pizza and a tub of ben and jerrys, through the same way, on his computer, as usual, and awaited our delivery. We clearly selected baked alaska for ice cream, i have good memory and know what i saw.
Anyway, the delivery got here quickly enough, and i was hungry when it got here, so expecting it to be correct, i peeled the lid off of the ice cream tub and tasted a horrible flavour of walnuts... They'd given me the wrong ice cream. It doesnt even sound or look like baked alaska. Chunky monkey, baked alaska. Now im not, but what if someone was allergic to nuts or bananas etc, and didnt check the ice cream before they ate it and had a severe reaction?
So we decided to ring back, and tell them, as i was hungry and didnt want that at all.
When we rang there was an endless line of foreign employees who spoke quite bad english. When they stopped playing pass the parcel with the phone, someone finally asked what we wanted, so we told them they gave us 'chunky monkey' and our address, then they said 'but you wanted baked alaska! ' ... As if questioning why we gave ourselves a chunky monkey which we didnt want, so he said he'd come and swap it, and theyd be here in ten minutes.
I was happier, and thought theyd be here soon, we live literally a five minute drive away, and it was at like 11.30pm so the streets were quiet. Every other order had arrived within at least 20 minutes, and thats when we order stuff like, 4 large pizzas with loads of toppings. Yet, it took them 55 minutes to pick up a tub of ice cream, drive down the road, and swap it for my other one? I was getting really tired, because id just broken up for a school holiday, and was tired and, like lots others do, really wanted the homely comfort of ben and jerrys.
Unforteunatley i was almost asleep by that time. And when it did turn up, the man just stood there, didnt say anything. And after a couple of minutes came out with.. 'have you got the other one? ' so we swapped it and he just handed us the new one and walked right off. No thank you, no smile. Just generally moody.
I also know of friends with bad experiences with the manager, with him being VERY rude towards them, so from now on they go to pizza hut. Which i might do.
Anyway, i just wanted to share this because its really annoyed me after all those years.
