[email protected], Craig Bellamy, Lola Poll, MAOS Service Concept, Uk, Ltd I was a victim of a secret shopper scam involving a cashiers check drawn on a local Houston credit union Windsor Bershire

I was the victim of fraud. I was contacted by a company to perform a secret shopper task, it involved testing the customer service of wire transfer companies. They stated they would send a Cashier's Check to perform the transaction and I would receive a fee for doing so. I had just began the secret shopper avenue as a way to provide additional income for my family and many people I know had told me about doing it.

After several emails they claim to be a reputable company named: MAOS Service Concept, (UK) Ltd. located at Thames Court, 1 Vicotria Street, Windsor, Bershire, SL4 1YP, London, UK, Tel 447011132983 or 447031940571 and fax 44-20-7692 9260. Registered in England RC 3080011.

In short, I was sent a Cashier's Check drawn on a credit union so I thought for sure it was legitimate, everything looked original all the water markings, etc. I deposited in my credit union and thought for sure if anything was not credible, they would have notified me. Well, they didnt until it was presented to the credit union it was drawn on and then I was told it was fraudulent. Needless to say, I was distraught and now my credit union wants me to come in and sign loan papers to pay back $4, 800.00 that I was scammed out of. I am unemployed and this has placed an enormous burden on me. My credit union takes no liability stating that yes this happened to a customer two weeks ago... I asked why werent the customers notified? She said it was impossible to notify. That is simply not true, I rely on my banking institution to provide this type of information to me especially if they became informed.

PLEASE, PLEASE anyone who experiences this type of contact, dont be ignorant and think people are honest, because THEY ARE NOT. This is a horrible way to learn the hardway and I am distressed with the outcome and dont know what to do.

Sincerely,
Kimberly
