HSBC received a CHAPS wire transfer for same day value credit on Friday 9th May. The funds still have not arrived, and I am speaking to a call center who are unable and unwilling to help. So far three hours of international calls have got me one hour of being asked if I am stupid and could I please hand the phone to someone who has the correct account details; one hour of 'I really cannot and will not help you' and one hour of 'please hold while I find my supervisor'.
In the meantime, I am $70, 000 out of pocket, they will not provide me a temporary loan or overdraft to cover my commitments so my rent check has bounced and I have had to pay penalties as well as take a negative credit score. All the time the bank are holding onto MY money, and hitting me with penalties for bouncing checks.
Additionally, I am about to incur a further $5, 000 penalty on a deposit agreement that I cannot fulfil. Still the bank are disinterested in helping me... no wonder there is a global credit crisis - it's MY money, why can't I access it?
