Was phoned on January 2nd by a lady who called herself anita was very friendly and exited to inform me that i had won a holiday to orlando, she was very helpful, telling me the details of my stay and the inclusions of my holiday which at the time sounded legitimate, she then asked me my card details as the holiday would not be verified without them, stupidly i gave them over, she told me then that i had a small fee of $998 to pay and that this wasn't much for 4 people, she then told me that she had taken the money NOW which she did not mention at the time, i asked her why she had not mentioned this before and she said yes during the middle of this conversation i told you that i was taking the money now, i said that i had not agreed to this and she began to get angry and she snapped at me saying that i can pay them in monthly installments, alarm bells were ringing in my head but she told me that i could not stop the payment now, i was then put through to a man who confirmed everything but would not listen when i said that the payment made was unauthorised, he said to me happy new year and then hung up. I new that I had been scammed and looked the company up online, and sure enough they have a website with all the contact details that they had already given me, i looked further into the company and found this website and all my fears were then confirmed, i have definately been conned. I have phoned my bank and they said that the payment is pending and that it cannot be stopped but they may be able to retrieve it after the payment is made, but what are the chances of that happening. now i am left £700 short and feeling like a complete idiot! How can they get away with this?
