Hi! I had hired George Clarke of Yellow Fever Productions from Belfast, Northern Ireland, U.K. to direct an original TV pilot for me.
He did not follow my directions. He missed deadlines on when I wanted my show done. It took him too long to do post-production on my show. He made too many executive decisions on the show. He did not consult with me on the show. And I was the producer/executive producer of my show!
The show became his. He was only supposed to be the director of the show. But he became producer of the show.
I was the producer of my own show and the executive producer. I was supposed to be the only one. But he decided to become a "co-producer" without consulting me!
He basically took my show from me!
For lack of time, I had hired him for another job. Before this other job occurred, we had an argument regarding the first job. He insulted me!
Before he had insulted me, he had asked me to pay half of the money up front. Which was $1, 500.00. Then, he insults me! I fire him on the spot! I requested my money back. He refused. Because he refused to pay me back, what was I supposed to do? So, just told him to chalk the money up for the last job. He didn't even offer to return the money. He just claimed that he couldn't!
I requested all of my footage back - the raw footage as well as the production footage.
He has not returned anything! It's been at least 2 weeks since I requested the return of MY footage! He has kept the footage! I think for his own use! We had had an argument about another piece of footage! He claimed that it was "corrupted." I don't think so! Just like this footage - I think he wants to keep it and sell it as his own! He cannot! It is MY footage!
So - I am stuck. I cannot do anything now with the show that he produced for me! The money I gave him was a waste of time and money!
I do not have a good product from him. I have already showed the promo to 3 networks and they rejected it.
He would not make any more changes. The additional changes that I had asked him were what the networks had asked. If he had made my changes, I could've probably sold the pilot. But because he refused to make any more changes, they turned me down!
Everyone that I have shown the promo to does not like it. This is because he made all of the executive producing decisions on it and excluded me from the decision-making process of the show!
He does NOT take direction! He delays post-production. He does not prioritize his jobs correctly!
I do not recommend him at all! Especially, with the issue of returning the money! Never pay this guy up front! He cannot return money! He has no pride! He will just take the money!
I am out $1, 500.00 because of him! DO NOT HIRE HIM! He can only do his own productions! He will not listen to anyone else!
