I purchased a Fortec Star satellite receiver in December after the sales pitch claimed that you simply plug in a hard drive via the USB in the front panel and you can pause and record live TV. I couldn't get it to work so contacted the supplier who tried a couple of things with no success. They contacted Fortec Star but eventually gave up trying to get them to sort the problem out and even gave me the mobile phone number of the UK boss as they were so fed up with the lack of service. He came on full of promises to ring back but never did despite repeated requests. I then contacted the technical department via an e mail address on the website. They told me to try some things including " try plugging in to the USB port at the rear of the unit" (It doesn't have one!!!) and "press the usb button on the remote (It doesn't have one!!!). I e mailed them back advising that I was no further on and they have never got back to me. I contacted Jonathan again and gave him 7 days to sort it before I started to post reviews like this. He threatened me with legal action but the following day sent me an e mail asking again what the problem was and saying he would get back to me. Again he never did. I have now told them I am returning the goods to the supplier and he sent a response saying that his reason for the poor customer service is that they are too busy selling products. So it seems they are happy to sell stuff but not to provide a decent level of back up.
