This morning my son took off work to drive to the store and I purchased a Mountfield HP474 Lawnmower. We also purchased the starter kit with the recommended oil. Got it home and my son went to work and I started assembling the mower and putting oil and petrol in it. Upon completion the engine started on the first pull of the cord. In addition oil started leaking out the engine block and as the engine warmed up starated smoking.

I called the store and they told me that if it was faulty to bring it back, which I don't have the transport to. So they told me they would deliver a new one and charge me for the delivery, and it would be sometime next week before they could do it.

For an item of this cost you would think that a store like B&Q would have some sort of contingecy plans or assistance. Needless to say, we have spent thousands of pounds at B&Q over the past 4 years, but in the future I think Homebase or Focus will be receiving our custom where we are sure that we will get better aftercare.
