MoneyBookers
Com Scam AutoTrader Scam using Moneybookers

I tried to purchase a used Honda S2000 on AutoTrader.com, and got hooked into purchasing one from someone "who had been relocated to London" and wanted to use MoneyBookers.com as an escrow service to make sure the deal went through without a hitch. I checked out the VIN# on Carfax, and everything checked out, so I continued on with the deal. I was to send 50% of the money via Western Union to a verified agent (Robin Merlingers) and then the car would be shipped. I received an email that the car was being shipped, and an agent would contact me 24 hours before delivery, then I would have 10 days to inspect the car and decide if I wanted it or not. Of course all of this was to be taken care of by the seller. (Red Flag!) I did not suspect anything was strange until they emailed me two days before the car was to be delivered, and asked for the final payment to be made before the car was to be delivered. This being not what I had signed up for, I asked them for the name and number of the transportation company being used, and they refused to give it to me. They just reitterated that I needed to make the final payment in order to receive the car. I told them I wanted to cancel the transaction, and they said I could get my money back minus the cost of shipping the car back. I was still suspicious, so I googled the VIN number, and the exact car that was suposedly being shipped to my house from London, was on sale by another individual in Chicago! I emailed him, and he told me I was being SCAMMED! He told me he still owned the car, and I had been scammed! I emailed the seller and moneybookers telling them I wanted my money back, and I have not received an email, (or a car) since! Please save yourself your hard earned dollars, and don't buy from someone overseas saying they will pay for shipping, and sell the car at a steep discount. I researched moneybookers before, but never moneybookers scams. They all came up once I added those five little words. I wish I had found it out sooner! Now I am out my hard earned money, and I have nothing to show for it. Hopefully you can save yourselves the heartache.
