My sons christening was booked in a nearby venue, we had booked 10 family members into the mortimers cross hotel for the bank holiday weekend. A week before they were due to stay there I needed to cancel for 1 couple. I tried contacting the hotel by phone but kept getting no incoming calls message... my sister in law was also trying to call to confirm the booking for the other 8 family members with the same problem. I visited the pub on 3 occasions 2 days before they were all due to check in but it was all closed up. I knew that the owners also ran another local pub The Nags Head @ Canon Pyon, Hereford so I contacted them there. I asked why the pub was closed when they had bookings for the following day the owner told me that the pub was closed for the bank holiday weekend??? And that there was nothing he could do about it. He didn't apologize or seem at all concerned at his mistake, when I told him that I thought he had a terrible attitude he hung up on me... I called him back really quite upset and asked him what I was supposed to do with the guests he had let down he said it wasn't his problem and what did I expect him to do about it, needless to say I was getting nowhere fast with him so I booked them all into another local hotel successfully. Please Please do not visit The mortimers Cross Kingsland, or The Nags Head Canon Pyon, Hereford as this man is really rude aggressive and obnoxious he really is a vile man...
