I originally entered a contest while online searching for discount cigarettes. There was a link which offered a chance to win the London Tobacco Lottery. I registered.
Approx. two months later, I started receiving emails stating that I had one. However, they wanted me to send the carrier service, AMTRAK COURIER EXPRESS, money in order to deliver my check.
The delivery fees started out at about $789.16USD. They also said that I could visit the UK and pick up my check.
When I said I would, they told me I had to send a copy of my Passport to get an invitation to visit the UK. They said I should be prepared to pay all taxes and fees.
This of course could not be deducted from my winnings.
Since I did enter this contest, I thought maybe it was legit. Everyone should know that if you win a lottery, taxes / fees are always taken out of the winnings.
