I received a email from CoCa Cola Promotion Prize telling me that my e-mail address had been selected and that I had won USD$950, 000.00. All I had to do was give them my full name and address, telephone number and fax number. I truly believed this e-mail, as I had just recently sent in some numbers that I got from the cap of CoCa Cola. So I complied and next I got another e-mail from Halifax Finance Offsore Payment Centre asking for: A Copy of your Identity card, Drivers license or International Passport Picture page (For Identification and record purposes). However, the funds will be paid to you by HALFAX Securities Finance London England; via your account or via certified banks cashiers cheque drawn in your name and favour dispatched to you by DHL Courier Services to your address from UK as a Roll over to the Sweepstake Program Cocalite Inc. Also attached were two forma I had to fill out where it did specifically ask for my bank account information.
I am unable to work and am on a small disability cheque. So I thought this was wonderful, so I showed my son and he read the documents I was to fill out, and was disgusted when he saw how they had pulled one over on me. Thank goodness I did not send any further information. There sure are so many nasty crooks out there and I was about to be one of their prey.
