MFI kitchen planner not qualified many hidden costs kitchen did not fit their fitter overcharged will not refund or give compensation because we did not use their fitter Ripoff England Nationwide

We asked MFI to measure and plan our kitchen the fitting cost on estimate was 1454 and plan was drawn up by them. When the MFI fitter called he quoted an additional 2175 which we queried. There were hidden costs and he had also charged for work not needed. So we employed our own fitter due to this (we did not trust the MFI fitter). The kitchen did not fit and our fitter went to MFI to get a floor plan the planner admitted he had made a mistake and we thought he had orderedc a replacement unit.

I spoke to the store manager Mr Kebbel who said that had he been instore he would not have replaced the unit and we would not be getting a refund for the incorrect one and they were not prepared to compensate me for the extra costs this mistake had caused. He then rang to say that they had not actually ordered a unit and he also said there was no reason that the kitchen could not be completed as the unit could be cut down and this is what an MFI fitter would have done. As we were not prepared to stat cutting units he ordered another one which now could not be delivered until 16th Dc but still refused refund/compensation. The reason for this was because we were not using their fitter they washed their hands of any problems with the kitchen (even though an MFI fitter called twice and diid not spot the mistake). I have since writtren to their head office and they are saying because we didi not use their fitter the fault is down to me!!! They also tell me that the planner is not an expert even though we took it in good faith that the store advertises expert planning.

I am not prepared to let this matter drop, and want to alert others to the fact that when you order a fitted kitchen the planner can and probably will make mistakes. Also if you do not use MFIs overpriced and what seems dishonest fitters (who will will cut down units). To the fact that if something goes wrong they do not offer any friendly customer service or asistance. As they will tell you it is down to you.

They seem unaware that consumers have any rights under "the sale of goods act" I would appriciate any advice reagrding what to do now.
