I just visited a londis store in birmingham, having just returned from a working trip to scotland. i went too pay for the goods at the till, when i handed the till person a £20 legal scotish note i was refused, the lady told me that we dont except that, in a rude manner, in front of outher customers, which made me feel like some kind of criminal, i told her it was legal tender in england, and she was breaking the law in refusing me the wright to spend it, then second till attendant came over a told me, we dont except that money in here, lucky for me i had my bank card on me, and had to pay with that, what i should of done is left the shop and goods behind me in disgust. but i was to embarrassed. what if a scotish person came to england with holiday money from his or her own country and was refused to be able to spend legal tender money here. while i was in scotland i was never told i could not spend my english money, i will never shop at a londis store again.
