Scam: cash check and forward majority

Applied for driver job on Detroit.craigslist.org. I was returned email from Cole Mchacty for Keneth Cole Bakker. Basically, I am to cash a large check, extract my first week's pay and forward on the rest to his travel agency for his internal travel expenses on an upcomming trip to U.S.

Keneth Cole Bakker is supposed to be British Doctor and head of a construction company DE' ALANS CONSTRUCTION CO.

He wants a lot of personal information about me. He knows nothing about me except what I wrote in an application email for a position to drive and assist in providing recreation to senior citizens.

The original ad was well written and sufficient specific although it did not mention a specific site within the Detroit metropolitan area for the location. This usually indicates out of town as Detroit Metro is physically as large as Chicago or New York metros but we are much smaller in population. Also, we are *always* Metro Detroit, never Detroit Metro, although other cities seem to prefer "metro" to follow. This man writes very poorly for anyone native to the UK. He fails to capitolize and punctuate by even the simpliest rules, which they do still teach in the UK, and especially in Scotland. Then he wants me to cash a large check and forward the remainder to his Travel Agent. Any business man and presumably a Doctor, no matter what discipline, would do the opposite. Pay his agent and have them pay the driver. This just screams a variation on the famous Nigerian schemes. Also, someone doing this would not try to save somewhat less than $2.00 on postage and a second check even if he wanted to guarantee my employment.

Enter his several names into Google and the reports just pop up, again and again. I mention all of this as good examples of how to evaluate such scams. Until I saw how he had tried this in New Jersey, Texas, Michigan, and several other places, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he deserves nothing but a small iron cage, with a long residence.

I was suspicious from the return email and never sent any reply, so I never lost and probably of less help to the police.
