We had a very surprising presentation at Worton Park - it lasted all of 20 minutes!

We were first seen by Chez (Cheryl) who offered us a large cup of coffee while we filled in our likes and dislikes for the holidays we usually took. When she asked us if we had been to any similar presentations we said Yes but were thrown out when we had told the rep that we weren't interested in timeshare. She then talked for a short while mainly about her interest in Roman remains (one of our 'likes') but she suddenly announced that one of her previous customers had arrived and she would have to leave us as the commission she would earn from them was more important to her than we were and would we go back to reception, which we did.

Here we were told that the presentation session was full and they couldn't accommodate us any further - we were free to leave but our 600 vouchers would be sent on as they hadn't arrived from the printers (we were given a letter to say that they would arrive within 21 days). When we asked if they had any information for us to take away, they regretted that they had no brochures either but, when pressed, they indicated that the holidays in question were narrowboat holidays. When I told them I had been a founder member of the Inland Waterways Association and was very interested in canal holidays they surprisingly still expressed no interest and we left wondering what we had said for them to throw us out. Could the negative use of the word 'timeshare' have had anything to do with it - what do you think?

It is only now that we have found all the 'rip-off' information on the web and wished we had thought to search earlier before wasting our time in going to Oxford.

Whew! A very lucky escape by the sound of it. I wonder whether our vouchers will ever arrive - their website address does not appear to exist by the way, although printed on their notepaper.
