Mrs. Linda Brenda Attempted advance fee scheme. Received Cashier's check. Will not cash. Ready to expose perpetrator

Miscellaneous

In response to an ad I had placed for a two horse sleigh, I received an email asking for more information. I innocently responded and then began to receive a string of emails with instructions that I would receive a check for more than I was asking for the item, cash the check and wire the remainder to an "agent, " who would, in turn, arrange for the sleigh to be shipped to the buyer.

There were also cryptic telephone messages and one conversation, which was conducted by my speaking, the content's being delivered to caller by email, and the response being read back to me by telephone operator.

I have played along with this obvious Advance Fee Scheme until now, when I received a Cashier's Check for twice the amount of the sleigh, out of which i was to take the cost of the sleigh and wire the rest to an agent whose name and address were given in an email.

The check is written on a bank in Texas, but the envelope is stamped with what appear to be motifs from Benin.

I am now ready to expose the perpetrator with the evidence I have collected. I am wondering whether anyone else has experienced a similar type of fraud.
