Fake sweepstakes for $50, 000 letter in the mail

Hello, I received a letter today in the mail saying that I had won $50, 000 from a sweepstakes!! I was so excited. After some thought I found it odd that the sweepstakes was placed in the UK... I was unsure about the legitimacy of the letter: clues I had that it was fake were- the letter was printed, even the signature was printed (if you were giving away 50k wouldn't you at least sign the paper?)..the letter said that they had contacted me by phone several times but couldn't manage to get a hold of me..

I didn't see any uk numbers on my call id so that was a red flag! To put the whole winning idea to rest I actually called the UK! I first got Shawn Davidson's answering machine... so I left a message... I called a second time and was greeted by a really annoyed foreigner (middle eastern accent) I told him my name and asked if the prize was legit..and he said yes..I then asked (to throw him off)..what did I win?... he said "you've won some money ma'am"

Interesting... he then asked if I wanted a day to make up mind if I wanted it or not..uhm duh. YES I want the money..he said it would take a day to "process" the check and then I would get it by mail within 7 days. I have concluded that this is a scam because I actually read a post on here from a woman in California who had the same thing happen, and the letters were from the same "Shawn Davidson" < prize director, the letter she received was from a similar company called New World International... dated from 2006 though..so My conclusion is this is a fake and please don't cash a check by the company they are obviously just changing names and continuing to fake people... don't be fooled.

If you get a letter from these people please report it so they will stop the scamming... the letter said contact Shawn Davidson or Tammy Allen so if you get a letter from either of these people be warned... FAKE! A bit more info on the letter is: Raven International Sweepstakes Inc, the letter has a UK flag image on the lower right hand corner, at the top it says "From the desk of the prize director" and in the background of the letter it says in big letters "Confidential Document" Shawn **** number is: 011-447-505-935-726
