Great Britain/Beverly Hills Sweepstakes Scam
I signed up for a new email address. Just a week later a received two suspicious emails in my "bulk" email box.

This one said "Congratulations!! Your email Won." Of course, I read through it several times. It stated that the "prestigious" Beverly Hills Sweepstakes had "set out and successfully organised Sweepstakes..." and were "unrivaled in the industry as it concerns the pay out of winnings to successful participants."

It goes on to say that my email address had been drawn in their 10th year Anniversary Draws, had been attached to a ticket number and had won One Million, Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Great Britain Pounds.

I was suppose to then contact my "fiduciary agent, " whom the email listed as Mr. Albert Berne, and that he would "guide (me) through the process to facilitate the release of (my) winnings."

There was only an email address and fax number for Mr. Berne, no phone number.

The clincher was at the end of the email where it stated, "PLEASE NOTE! For security reasons, you are advised to keep your winning information confidential til your claims is processed and your money remitted to you in whatever manner you deem fit to claim your prize..."

I immediately tried to track recent fraudulent sweepstakes and found a similar one on Rip-Off. I'm glad I didn't respond, as it looks like they may send a fake check that when taken to the bank and cashed, is not paid by the Sweepstakes company. Thus, I would be liable to pay the bank back the full amount!

I would love to see these guys (or gals) stopped!!
