I received this morning through the post, addressed to my accounts dept, an invoice from this company, claiming to be for advertising on their website. A 36month registration fee/ membership, which would gain you banner adverts on their site and others. They also supply discounted debt recovery services (is this to scare you that they work with debt recovery people?).

The invoice is quite amatuerish and has a google logo in the top corner, though they do state in small print that they have nothing to do with google. The 'normal' price of advertising is 1499.99, which makes their 'special offer' of 149.99 quite attractive! Cheques are requested to be made payable to 'Wilson' presumably so they can then add an initial or 2 to the cheque upon receipt.

They even state you can see the advert you are paying for by giving directions to where on their website it can be found, but it does not appear on the page and the website looks very basic.

online found that a similar scam was run by a person called Wilson, a few months ago.
