A Real Joke of a company that won't go away now!

This company is not only a joke, they are scam artists who won't go away. They are to your wallet, like termites are to your house. Once they're in, they're in.

I was trying to replace some accidently deleted maps from my gps unit. I searched online, and found a site where i could download the maps for "free" if I became a member. The two membership options were $4.87 for a 3 day trial, or $39.99 for 30 days. Of course, only needing the map file, I opted for the 3 day trial.

The membership process seemed smooth until it came time to actually use it. I never got an activation email as promised, the member ID never worked, etc... I couldn't locate anything to cancel (as the 3 day trial would convert to $39.99/month if I didn't). I called my credit card company (this is all within 30 minutes of signing up). My credit card company told me the name of the merchant "check-help.com". As you can imagine, this was NOT the name that appeared anywhere on the website where I signed up, and is completely different from what they say will appear on my statement.

With this new-found information, I located their website, and managed to cancel my account. I even got a confirmation of the cancellation, and printed it out (Thankfully). Now, I'm within the first hour of having tried to join. Fast forward a few days. Now all these random charges are appearing on my statement from check-help.com. The following charges have appeared:

$4.87 - I agree to this one, as I signed up for the 3 day trial
$1.00 - For what?
$1.00 - A second time? Again, for what?
$9.82 - Where did THIS come from?
$39.99 - Eventhough I cancelled?

I have been charged TEN TIMES what I authorized! I have started the dispute process, however I have read other complaints where such disputes resulted in even more charges. I'll update as needed, but my advice right now is to avoid this company at ALL COSTS!
