Croma hand blender
Not working properly, weird sound

I started using croma hand blender for the first time. And it was creating weird noise and the blender was not crushing the items (Onions) very fastly. Some kind of spark was coming from the hand blender machine. I had purchased it in Feb' 2010.
Please solve my problem ASAP.
