Plymouth Car Sound
Radio diagnosis

Cars & Transport

I contacted pcs as my radio/sat nav unit on my s max stopped working. I was told the diagnosis would be £49.99. I had already stripped the panels/facia and removed head unit all but the wire loom at the rear of the unit but was told it would still cost £49.99. They took the head unit out and I was told they would be testing it to find out what the problem was. A few days later I received a call to say they couldn't find an obvious fault after opening up the unit so they would have to send it to their specialist to diagnose the fault... FOR AN EXTRA £60!!!
I assumed that when I took the unit to Plymouth Car Sound (who advertise as 'specislists in radio repair') that the £49.99 was paid to have the fault diagnosed by specialists??? Not to then have it sent to another specialist???
I declined the offer and took it to Turnbull's who diagnosed the fault within half an hour as a common problem with the unit (power supply fault) and would cost £360 to repair Inc vat... Diagnosis free!!!
I will never be using Plymouth Car Sound again and wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy, having spoken to other friends in the motor trade they also have had missed diagnosis in the past. Beware!!! #mayaswellchuckmoneyinthebin
