Continuous flight cancellations by BA

We purchased Zurich-London tickets for 28/12. Tickets were paid on 12 April and issued. We made our arrangements timeously as to arrange our trip around the departure time. Our prior destination requires lengthy travelling; we are travelling with 3 kids with limited book-in time to our London flatrental. After ticket issuing BA requested time changes twice. Alternative times now offered are not workable within our fixed schedule with several paid deposits pertaining to accommodation etc. BA indicated that if unwilling to accept the alternative times, we can be refunded and book elsewhere. Re-booking at another airline is not an option as this would incur costs not budgeted for. We chose BA due to their reputable standing in the market as a leader! - Not a low cost budget airline. Surely they can't offer flights, accept the money and issue the tickets if the scheduling is going to change continuously. At this rate ALL the flights are at risk of being cancelled. If due to whatever reason you have to re-schedule, fine, but then I have the right to be conveniently accommodated elsewhere at BA's cost and also not be put in a worse financial position.
