Nearly got me Thanks Ripoff Report

I was made redudant a month ago and have so far applied for over 60 jobs without any luck. I answered an ad in a regional paper for BHA. I went along to the 1st interview and was basically told everything I wanted to hear. I was invited to a second interview (along with my wife?). luckily I did a google search to check up on the company and guess what? hundreds of reports telling me it was a rip off. Thank god I found out. How can these people get away with this.
