False words on my band biography

I have had to cancel my 'Last. Fm' account as either the website itself or a unknown hacker has forged my band biography. I have been in contact with the police about the possibility of there being a hacker, and they said that I have to contact you with regards solving this problem.

My complaint was followed by a 2 month waiting period and then they got back to me with this reply:

'Please note that the way Last.fm biographies work is with a wiki system, which means biographies are open to editing by all users of the site'

I was not made aware of this when I set up my account with you, and have never come accross such procedures as this on a internet site for record labels. I also have the problem of not being able to close down my band page, even though I have closed my account.

Last FM's response:

'Please note that artist pages themselves cannot be removed from Last.fm since they are formed of metadata (information) which cannot be deleted. '
