I received an email from Lonnie Hargrove offering an opportunity to work at home to be paid $35.00 an hour for 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. It was too good to be true. I googled search for any negative reports regarding this person and there was none.
I emailed her back showing interest in finding out more about the job and the company. She then emailed me back with more questions and this time she gave a company registry number and its address. I tried locating it by going into public records of London England and went into Wholesale Clearance UK LTD website and the company does exists.
Needless to say, I was skeptical but willing to entertaintain the thought. I figured no important information was exchanged so therefore what's the harm!
I was hired!! That was the next email I received with more questions regarding when and how I would like to get paid. I entertained the thought further and answered. She also said that I would need to get office equipments and get this I was being given $100.00 as a sign up bonus. Imagine that!! The check was on its way and I was to deposit it to my bank.
I received the check however, I did not deposit it to my bank. I went directly to the bank that is on the check to see its validity. I was surprised to find out that the company and the account number does exists however, the name on the check is not the company I was supposedly hired to work for. The signature is not an officer of the company and the account does not endorse checks! Furthermore, the address label originated from Illinois but he packaged was sent out from Rhode Island.
It is amazing to what extent these scammers are going to do. They are very resourceful I just feel bad for the people who I have a great feeling are not even aware that their names, addresses and company information are being used.
