Sent me a phone they say works but doesnt and they wont answr the phone

Well they phoned me telling me my phone contract was up and they could give me a better one i never ralised it wasnt o2 but 3, the new phone arrived 3 days later i put in the sim card phoned to have it turned on because they said they would pay for the last few months bills from o2 so i dont get charged because of the missunderstanding, it didnt work and it took 10 mins to actually turn the phone on and for ever for anything to actually work, but still no sim recognised i had to phone on the sat morning to tell them, they said they would give me a free month and to send the phone back,

I sent the phone back specil delivery which cost 7 pound, when it arrived back it was the same phone they said nothing was wrong on the diagnostic machine. again the phone didnt work no sim recognised i phoned again and was put through to Daniel Reese customer service manager who was very rude, saying i could not cancel my contract and i had to wait till he phoned me on monday to get it sorted as he was going home, I waited all weekend trying the phone twice daily to see if anything was working, as you can guess it wasnt, It was such a nice day on monday I decided to phone them to see if they was going to do anything 3 hours stuck on hold I became very upset, while i was on hold on one phone my mobile rang it was there sales department trying to sell me a contract by now it was nearly 2 in the afternoon I said i am pleased that they had phoned as i was stuck on hold with my other phone and that i wanted to cancel my contract and send it back the lady became very unhelpful and said that she could not help i needed to talk the the service department which i explained again i was stuck on hols she went off the phone and said that they would phone me back 4pm stillno call, I phoned the traiding standards wh explained that i can send the phone back as i only had the contract for 6 days from the date it arrived by post not from the day it started, I then phoned 3 and explained my problem who put me straight through to freemobiles4u when i spoke to Josh he was very upset with me, and told me to send the phone back to an address he gave me which the first 2 times he said was very fast and abbrupt which i could not understand he also said that i would hear from them again but i am not sure after reading all the other complaints about them, I have cancelled my direct debats with them as there was 2 set up on my account. I sent the phone back special delivery and i hope never to hear from them again, I would not have been able to do all this without my dad and the traidng standards, something needs to be about these people
