Nomi eating into my balance for calls not made

I had been using a Nomi-mobile SIM for a year or so with no problems. Nomi was recommended to me by a kiosk selling calling cards who said their rates were very good, which is true. Txt msgs 11p to Europe, calls 1p p/m to Europe, 5p to UK landlines and 10p to mobiles, etc. You also have the option of using a landline to make cheaper calls. I found them very helpful, very competitively priced and I loved the online account.

Up until May the only problem I had was when I called a French landline from a UK landline and was charged 40p instead of 10p, however, the agent I spoke to was very apologetic and the money was refunded immediately.

The real problems began from June. I started to notice that even when the phone was not in use, when I am abroad, money was deducted from my balance, but I wasn’t sure so started to monitor my account. Between 16 July and 30 November, nearly £2 was taken. I called Nomi call centre (which appears to be in India) in September but the girl I spoke to was not very helpful and did not seem to understand my complaint. She said she would make some enquiries and call me back but I never heard anything and had to travel back to Spain.

On 4 December I called Nomi again and spoken to three different operators, all Indian, with very curious English names. All were faultlessly polite and apologetic and I was refunded £1.22 immediately after the first call. I was assured that they would look into the matter as there appeared to be a technical problem (shame it’s never the other way around). I had to call again as another .71p was not refunded. I was told they would check this although the operator did admit that there were no calls made between the dates I was claiming. I am still waiting to hear on this.

Another problem is with the online account. Before May it gave a very clear record of all calls made via a landline, those made by mobile and txt messages. However since then, calls may or may not appear on the statement, or only for a very short period, and only text messages appeared up until 24 October. As at today, 4 December, there is no record at all, except for one text message made on 9 September. Anything before or since then does not show. I have mentioned this as well to the operators but they do not seem to know where the problem is as their records show all details.
