I read an advert in a performing arts news paper calling for fashion models in the local area. I sent an email with a photo attached. I was then called for a model evaluation. They did not measure me or do a test shoot, they put me in a small room with a video. It was about models being on a yacht in florida with crappy vengaboys music in the background. It talked about the guy responsible for the backstreet boys etc., then began to list the names that use the company. Donna Karran etc.,
The woman said the starter package was 225 and the advanced package was 325 and the video said lifetime price would be $995.99 or something.

Anyways I checked the wilhelmina site out and I thought it was legit because it had pictures of Usher, Jessica Simpson etc.

The next day the woman persuaded me to pay a deposit to do my portfolio and jobs would be offered in the next 48 hours. I paid 50 and did my portfolio. Weeks later I rang up to find out why I hadnt recieved my portfolio, she said she would send it out to me. Weeks after that and still nothing. I rang up again but the phone was engaged all day.

The very next day I looked up the company on the internet, only to find out Wilhelmina is being investigated.

The photographer wasnt even a fashion photographer but a lifestyle photographer as he put it and he said I was too thin! The make up was done by their own artist using cheap cosmetics.

To this day I have no reciept of deposit payment, no portfolio and no jobs. Thank God I didnt give those people all my money.

Iam really disapointed, what people do for the purpose of taking peoples money.
