Bounced check for jewellery they bought from me

They agreed to buy a diamond/sapphire ring from me and told me that they already had a buyer to sale it on to. The agreed price to me was 1000 Pounds ($2000)
They left a check for me at my hotel concierge which I deposited into my bank.

The check bounced and when I called them they said sorry but we will make sure the funds are there "next week" and would deposit cash into my bank.

Needless to say they never did and when I called them again they said they had not been able to trade the ring on and they just wanted to return it to me in USA by Fedex.

They have never returned the ring despite frequent requests.

They do not have a street address and only mobile phones so it is difficult for an attorney to start proceedings.
Beware of these people they appear to be frauds and con artists.
