Overs Removals Ltd Farnborough
Missing Item during removal

I moved house on 3rd November and used Overs Removals Ltd of Farnborough whom I had used several times before and have been very happy with their service.

I took out the Overs Insurance.

On arriving at my new home in Dorset it took us around 2-3 weeks to unpack the numerous boxes coming out of a large 4 bedroom house in Old Windsor- as you would expect.

When I had unpacked all boxes I found that there were several items missing: 1x iPhone 3GS (worth £500), 1 set of 8 step stepladders, 1 large box of food, 1 box of office goods and a TV handset. The most stupid item was a sealed packet of 6 coloured lighters (around £4 value) the packet was torn open and 2 lighters were taken!

I made a claim to their insurance company and was eventually told that because my claim fell outside of their 7 days then they would not be investigating further. I know that I signed the insurance contract but for goodness sake it takes longer than 7 days to unpack a 4 bedroom house!

I have spoken to Overs and they said - "I have spoken to the men who were on your removal and they have said that they know nothing about the missing items" - Well you would not expect them to say anything else would you?

This is a case of theft! I have asked that the insurance company replace my goods and no monies are wanted - just the replacement items. So I am not trying to get monies where it is not due. The total claim for approx. £1, 000.

I am disgusted at both Overs of Farnborough and the Insurance Company and will want to take this further - this is a case of theft and should not be allowed to go without penalty to the people who are steeling goods.

I would like all to know exactly what type of company Overs are and would not wish this to happen to anyone else.
