Computer lock out

Have a serious problem with your product which will not let me log on to the internet. Whilst I was on the net I got a message to say that I had a virus on my computer, and the message window looked like my Microsoft warning and I let it do a scan, It down loaded the software and then asked me to clean the system. To do this, I have to purchase the software license which I do not want to. I now cannot uninstall the software, and it does not show up in my ' add / remove software ' facility. It will not allow me to access the internet and says that my service provider will possibly infect my pc and blocks access. It seems that my pc has been hijacked by this software and unless I pay up it will not let go. I need access to my internet and would request any one who has any idea how to delete this program or how to contact these people, to let me know. Bharat
